Slow boat to anywhere
An interesting overview, but not enough detail for a given waterway. Numbering and naming of bridges/locks would be very helpful. To go cruising you need a "proper" map such as the excellent Geo folding maps. More of a coffee table book than a volume to take with you on the water.

Good summary guide
A good summary of the UK's inland waterways but you will need a more detailed local guide for cruising.
