CD Description
Spike Jones was a musical genius. His band, known as the City Slickers, produced comical performances by utilising bells, whistles, broken glass, gunshots and so on. They were most famous for performing dead-on satires of popular songs on the hit parade. Perfect timing and eye popping stage shows were the key to their success and although paradies of pop music continue to proliferate, the simple fact remains that Spike Jones & The City Slickers did it better than anyone before or has done since! (allmusic.com) * All original recordings digitally remastered * 25 tracks of the unique musical mayhem of Spike Jones & his City Slickers * Features his million selling hits 'Cocktails For Two' and 'Der Fuehrers Face' * Features all the US Top Ten smash hits Der Fuehrer's Face, William Tell Overture, Cocktails For Two, Chloe and Hawaiian War Chant at unbeatable price

Fine music ruined
This would be an interesting compilation with some less common songs by Spike. However it is ruined by over-zealous digital 're-mastering' which has created a very harsh echo-y sound which completely spoils the listening experience. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Ha ha ha bonk
Spike is a genious, and a great musician. Rare I know. But true.
