Customer Reviews

Does what it says5
This is an excellent book as it does what it says in the title.
It doesn't on the other hand underestimate the challenges of group facilitation but it does put it into a context. Apart from stressing the importance of developing an awareness of group process it focuses in on some of the essential elements of good facilitation. The author pitches it just right - something for both seasoned facilitators as well as those seeking to develop their skills. This latest edition builds on the different scenarios of the previous editions but also includes a description of virtual teams and their facilitation - something which many staff and managers now experience first hand.

Usable guide to energizing your meetings and workshops 5
How do you stay in control of a group without being manipulative? How do you initiate thought-provoking dialogue without injecting your own opinions? Esther Cameron addresses these issues and more in this useful guidebook to facilitating meetings and workshops. She provides numerous activities you can use to initiate creative suggestions and encourage lively debate. She also offers practical instructions regarding room setup, implementation and follow-up, all supported by examples, case studies, checklists and "Stop and Think!" reviews. We recommend this book to professional trainers, coaches, managers and, of course, facilitators. If you have to run an upcoming meeting, quickly peruse this book for some reliable, actionable advice.
