Customer Reviews

Great book! A must-buy for anyone wanting to create a great website.5
I bought this book because I'm thinking about starting my own website, and the book looked much more interesting than the others in the shop.

And I'm glad I did. It's really easy to read and full of great information and tips on how to make sure your site not only looks good but can actually make you money.

It gives many examples of sites which do things well to give you ideas for your own site.

If you are thinking about making a website, you have to get this book!
5/5

Disappointed2
I bought this book on the recommendation of the other reviews. From their praise I gauged it to be part "How to" manual and part style guru, aiming to make the reader's website look professional. IMO it does neither well.
The "How to" elements are too spartan and elementary, with advice like keep your image file sizes small and the page will load quicker. As for the design advice, I found it extremely basic with too little detail, and not very helpful on the whole.
If you know absolutely nothing about how a website should look, and what it should do, then this book is better than nothing, but barely.

Easy to read but basic3
I bought this book as it seemed fairly simple compared to other web design books and I didn't know where to start.

While the book is simple and easy to read, it doesn't go into very much detail about how to actually go about creating a website. If you want a manual to follow on building a website with detailed instruction then this book isn't for you. It does, however, give a basic overview of the process of designing/creating a website, whilst giving some very helpful tips on what to/ what not to do.

There for, in my opinion, it is a good book to read as a foundation if you know nothing about web design, but you will need to learn more before you can actually start building a website. While I found it useful, there maybe other books out there that do a better job.
