As a nation of animal lovers, I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to write about what happens when our two or four legged friends die. Still, it was well worth the wait. Not only will this book give comfort to the many who cannot come to terms with their pet's death, it's an absorbing and refreshing read too.
My life is devoted to animals, so I felt a lot of empathy with many of the topics Jenny Smedley addressed. If there is just one thing you learn from "Pets have souls too", I hope it will be that the spirit world is not just the preserve of humans, it embraces all living things

A Wonderful book
This is a wonderful book, especially for the many people like myself who have lost a beloved pet.
I have been breaking my heart for the last three years since I lost my best friend- and also wondering what does happen to our pets when they pass away.
Reading this book made so much sense to me and I was extremely sceptical when I bought it.
I now know that my angel is still with me,albeit in a different body, although still the same breed.
If you have lost an animal and are looking for answers, please read Jenny's book and hopefully she will be able to put your mind at rest too.
A much needed resource
This book is a much needed resource that brings great comfort to those that have lost a beloved pet. Jenny confirms what many people already know in their hearts to be true. Thanks for this treasure!
Comforting thought...
We love animals and have had many pets but our dogs have been more than pets, they were members of the family. This book was a comforting experience.
We have lost our beloved pet dogs but my cousin who lives in the U.S. lost her two long standing companions, two Beagles called Teddy and Linus and she wrote to us that if there are no dogs in heaven she doesn't want to go....I know what she means and this book makes any pet lover who has lost their dog, (and I guess heaven is probably NOT the domain of pet dogs either..)feel much better about their loss.
You can't recommend this book, if you need to you will read it and be comforted by it, little else needs to be said.
