Pennine Dreams is a book of two halves. The first concentrates on the the history of the canal; its inception, the economics, the technologies and its rough passage towards completion.
The second half begins after the economic failure of the canals and the impoverished times following WWII. Weaving it's way through time it follows the ups and downs of an enormous restoration project.
This book is for any person with an interest in British heritage and its preservation.
