Amazon.co.uk Review
In a nutshell:
From the makers of Gran Turismo comes the real riding simulator – the most realistic motorcycle game ever for the PS2. Not only that but it’s also got the best graphics ever seen in a racing game, over 100 fully licensed bikes and 20 different race events.
The lowdown:
When they called this a simulator they weren’t kidding. The attention to detail is unparalleled in any other PS2 game, with 125 different bikes all of which look and handle exactly like the real thing. Not only that but you can customise your bike’s set-up in every way imaginable, even down to the exact way you hold your head while riding. However, although the game’s career mode is structured like Gran Turismo there’s no money to earn or after market parts to buy, with new bikes being won Ridge Racer style. There’s also only a maximum of four bikes in any race, but with 37 courses to play through that’s not a problem for the true motorcycle fanatic.
Most exciting moment:
Although you can customise the controls however you want, for the ultimate challenge try turning off all the driving aids and learn to work both the front and back brakes of your motorcycle. It’s the only way to get the best times and the most exciting ride.
Since you ask:
The European version of the game includes three new bikes not seen in the U.S. or Japanese versions - the Kawasaki Z1000S1, Z1000R1 RacingModified and GS1000R RacingModified – as well as three new music tracks.
The bottom line:
Gran Turismo for motorcycles is the most realistic simulation ever.

amazing or not?
as a huge motorbike game fan i went out and bought this game on the day it came out. as soon as i started playing it i could see the simalarities between it and gran turismo 4.
tourist trophy however is a lot better than the previous bike games such as moto gp and tt superbikes. this game has loads of tracs and bikes so you will never get bored.
the only bad point is that i found the tourist trophy mode very easy and completed it in about 5 hours
Gets too boring
i enjoy playing bike games and when i saw this i thought i must get it. when i did i found it quite hard at the start but once u get into it and used to the handling it becomes boring. the opponents are rubbish and are not challenging at all. also its not like gt4 when u win u get money and in this u get bike leathers and bikes and u dont even have to buy the bikes u just have to do easy challenges.
there are some good points like the graphics and the choices of bikes and circuits and also the handling is quite hard at the start but u get used to it.
overall it has a good base but could be improved a lot with the riders ai and the money.
A beauty of a bike racer, usual problems.
I've waited for a bike game to look, feel, sound and handle like this for years and finally it's arrived. For any bike nut this game is for you, realistically detailed bikes to ride and drool over in the replay's of your racing. A nice selection of leather suits, gloves, boots and helmets to customise your rider. For the people that love to tinker with setups this caters for you too as you can alter suspension settings, brake settings, exhaust types and even adjust the gearing to suit. You can even modify how your rider sits and moves on the bike, now thats detailed. If your familiar with the Gran Turismo series then you will recognise the tracks as GT4 has all the same tracks except one Valencia, specially put in there for us bikers to recreate some WSB moments of our own, well thats what i like to think.
Now the not so good points, as with every game in the Gran Turismo series the opponent AI aint so intelligent so most races are easily won. Instead of winning money at the end of a race you get new kit and/or bikes now some people would see that as a good thing but i'd prefer to buy my own bikes and rider kit instead of having my garage filled with tat i dont want especially as you cant get rid of them buy selling or removing, once you got that bike you keep it, it's a minor thing for me you may not care. Last thing is the game could be longer, 20 odd race series, most with 3 to 5 races in the series you select, it is okay but if like me you love playing this game you'll have finished it pretty quickly.
So there you go, it's my honest opinion that this game is brilliant and i'm glad to have brought it, definatley not a waste of cash for me and i hope that there will be a new installment which is better and longer with more bikes and tracks, but that will be on the PS3 i should think.
