Excellent connector - pitty about the excessive packaging
Very high quality connector - fits my Nokia E66 very tightly and reassuringly thick linkage cable, both unlike the cheap one I bought with the phone (it wiggled about and lost channels, this one's solid). (5 star connector)

But why oh why do accessory companies insist on wasting huge amounts of plastic in the packaging. (-1 star for the environmental wastage)

Very Good Quality Connector
I am very satisfied with this product for use with my Nokia E51 mobile phone. I had previously bought a slightly cheaper connected and experienced problems with the left/right channels crackling or cutting out completely when swivelling my headphone jack in the connector's socket. However, the Hama cable adapter does not suffer from these problems. As Mark from Glasgow said (see previous review), the socket and jack on this connector will connect very tightly; this product feels like it will last. However, unlike Mark, I'm not too bothered about the excessive packaging (maybe this was intended to prevent shopt lifters from stealing the product if sold in a shop).

Very Poor Quality
Before purchasing this item I felt that this would be a high quality product, but sadly it is clear that this is not the case at all. As other reviewers have noted if you push a headphone cable into the 3.5mm female socket sound only comes from the right headphone. This happened on various source devices having 2.5mm female sockets and also with four different sets of headphones. You have to pull the 3.5mm pin out quite a bit to get anything like stereo and even then you also get a high pitched sound.

The 2.5mm male pin is not very tight at all. And if you move it just slightly the sound goes down or you lose the sound altogether.

Furthermore the photograph for this product looks very different to the actual cable. The picture makes it look as though this cable is much larger than it actually is. When it came this morning I was surprised by the fact that it's only around 13cms in length. Nowhere on the product description is the short length of this cable made clear.

We have had two of these and they have both displayed virtually the same faults. The first one we purchased locally and we didn't realise that this was the same cable when we purchased it from Amazon.co.uk. Overall pretty disappointing.
