A Good Piece of Home Exercise Equipment For the Upper Body5
There are some advantages and disadvantages to this product that buyers need to be aware of before purchasing:

-this is a great in-home piece of equipment to primarily exercise the chest (pecs), front shoulder (anterior deltoids), and back of the arms (triceps)

-once you can do 20 reps in a row with this item, you will not get these muscles any stronger using this piece of equipment. The srength training literature is quite clear (ex. Fleck and Kramer) that anything OVER 20 reps of an exercise will build primarily muscle ENDURANCE and NOT strength. Thus, you can strengthen the above named muscles only to a certain extent- since this exercise equipment is unable to provide progressive resistance (unlike a weight machine or dumbbell where you can keep adding a little more weight now and then which challenges the muscle and makes it grow bigger and stronger). Having said that, it is a great tool to use for moderate strengthening and to maintain a certain level of fitness. Just know it won't turn you into Hercules...

-this is an especially good piece of equipment to use if you have wrist problems since it can rotate and let your wrists do what they do naturally with you do this pressing type motion- unlike other exercise equipment where your hand is fixed on a bar.

-using this piece of equipment is vastly superior to regular floor push-ups as it allows the torso to "sink down" to the floor more which increases the range of motion for you to exercise in. Thus, the muscles are exercised more thoroughly thru a greater range.

When all is said and done: Its a good product for someone looking for a moderate upper body workout and wants to "stay in shape". Also recommend "Treat Your Own Rotator Cuff" if you have a shoulder problem that interferes with your workout.

Plasticky, but they do the job.3
When I unboxed these Push-Up Bars I was surprised to see they weren't as fancy looking as they are in the photos where they look quite solid and glossy. Instead they are definitely very plasticky and have a matt finish with the Power Pushup's logo on them, which is not shown in the promo photos.

One of the Push-Up Bars I got rattles as the plastic parts haven't been assembled very securely, nonetheless, it still holds together well and they're too cheap for the hassle of sending back.

However, on to the plus side... the reason I bought these is I have a problem with one of my wrists, which can be quite sore when trying to support my weight in the press up position. But I remember having PE teacher who used to do press ups with one hand in the normal position and the other on his knuckles, he did this to ease the arthritis he had.

So, not fancying doing press ups on knuckles, I figured I'd give these a go to see if they work - and hey presto, they do! Press-ups without pain!

The rotation mechanism is rough but functional and the tops of the hand-holds have a rubberised section to aid grip.

I can't know how long the Push-Up Bars will last, but they do the job they were bought for.

    A Good Buy4

I bought these as it will reduce the strain on the wrists and aid the natural movement of the arms when performing a press up.

I've just had a quick go when I received them. They are easy to use. When the arms are fully extended, the hand grips run parallel with your shoulders. When pressed down, your arms cant help but rotate by about 45 degrees when you use these. How can they rotate without this equipment? They cant, simple as.

Like the EZ curl bar, these are designed to help you work out whilst ensuring the arms move in a natural manner. This is obviously better for you than an unnatural movement.

They also work muscle groups differently to standard press ups. With these tools, I found that the pectoralis are working harder than standard press ups.

As a student of forensic engineering, I have done quite a bit of work regarding the strength and durability of differing materials. I can tell you that these 'plastic' components are made quite well. They will not fail in a hurry. Assuming your not rough with them and throw them around all the time.

Dont get me wrong, they wont last anywhere near as long as the metal alternatives you can buy. Which are more expensive by the way, and do not rotate. I personally would rather use these until they break, and then get some more of the same. Id like to keep my joints nice and healthy for my later years thanks.

    To conclude:
    - Aid natural movement of arms, better for you.
    - Good quality construction.
    - Cheap. Im suprised at the price. I wasnt expecting this quality.
