Not only is it a handy worldwide travel adaptor, but is unique as it has an additional USB converter. It  allows you to recharge or operate your device directly from the main power supply, where ever you are. Simply remove the usual cap, replace with the USB cap and Start charging your device. Suitable for all devices without ground pin (2-pin connections; 2.5A; 110V - max.275W; 220V - max.550W).

When USB module is connected, voltage is reduced to 5 volts as per a standard USB outlet socket. Includes essential USB charging unit - charge your iPod, travel speakers, PDA, MP3 player and mobile phone via USB CABLE (not included).

Saves so much space!
Used this on a "round the world" trip in April, and it charged my Phone and iPod via the USB, and allowed me to charge my camera batteries where ever I was. You'll never need another adaptor. Neil, sorry to hear you had problems. I think you've got a broken one, see if you can get a replacement, as it really is a nice bit of kit.

Save your money.....
I purchased this product to remove the option of having to take multiple chargers on holiday. I needed to be able to charge my Sony Ericsson K750i mobile phone and my Creative Zen Vision M: media player, which both charge perfectly well off my various computer USB ports, both at home and at work. The PowerTraveller device seems to present an ideal solution...but it failed to deliver. The plug adaptor side worked fine, does what it says on the box, but the USB adaptor seems lacking. It appeared to be charging the mobile phone, with the indicator showing the battery charging, but nothing happens, and the life slowly bleeds from your phone. The media player was even more disappointing...nothing even happened and my holiday was medialess after a couple of days. Keep your money in your pocket and stick to proper chargers.

Good Idea!
I bought this item for an African safari holiday mainly for the USB charger facility, so that I could charge my phone and Sony MP3 player. Plug adaptor is great and I have used it many countries with no problems. USB charger is a waste of space. It would not charge my MP3 player or my phone. In fact I can not find anything it will charge!
