Component IS an HD connection, therefore the set is HD Ready.
HDMI is digital, component is analogue, but both output at up to 1080i.
But, I would suggest a set with HDMI as it is the new standard connector for HD.
Not HD
No HDMI input means no HD. This is just a really nice tv, it is NOT HD ready.
