Manufacturer's Description
Inspired by the craftsmanship of Venetian glassblowers, the T260HD is the embodiment of Samsung's design philosophy - natural beauty that defies standardisation. Unlike other monitors on the market today, Samsung are just as concerned about how a monitor performs as well as it looks. The unique crystal-like frame is both transparent and opaque, giving the monitor a handcrafted feel. The smooth clean lines and variety of colors will make this monitor the centerpiece of any room in your home - no matter how sophisticated it may be. With the built-in digital television (DTV) tuner, the T260HD immediately widens your entertainment world. Unlike many monitors, the T series can decode and display free, over-the-air digital TV broadcasts without buying any additional equipment. So now your PC monitor enables you to watch your favorite TV programs while working on your PC. Now that's multi-tasking!

    Absolute Genius5
Well what can i say about this monitor?

Firstly it's absolutely stunning, although it's a bit of a dust magnet and needs regular dusting, secondly, the viewing angle is incredible, i went from a Samsung SM 245B 24" monitor to this and it's deffinately a much better panel for the viewing angle.

Also i've hooked a Sky HD box upto it and it's easy as pie switching between the PC and Sky TV.

Normally to get 1080P capability in a TV you would usually buy something like a 37", it's really amazing how they get such features into a small unit.

The sound from the internal speakers is pretty good too, i was expecting it to be really quiet, but with the volume set at just half way i can hear it from another room, as for quality of sound, i've no complaints there.

My only quibble with this monitor is one of the two HDMI ports is under a panel on the side of the monitor, if you have both a Sky HD box and a blu-ray player it's going to look a little untidy with the side panel open and a cable sticking out.

All in all i give this monitor/TV 5 stars, but i only reccomend you buy this if you're going to get a Sky HD box.
Get the cheaper T260 if you're only using a PC, and get a blu-ray drive for your PC.

    Very very pleased5
I spent a long time researching screens before settling on this one. I'll keep this brief:

    * Picture quality is excellent, 1080p games from my 360 (though there are few native 1080p games available) look outstanding.

    * The screen is capable of displaying a 16:9 image despite natively running in 16:10 (its a simple menu option) so don't worry about it stretching the image of movies, games etc.

    * my pc is plugged into this and I use it at full res as my monitor. The image is spot-on. Fonts are clear and easily legible and working in Photoshop is a dream with this screen.

    * Haven't tried the tuner yet but my housemate who has a smaller version says it works great.

    * Built in speakers are pretty naff as I kind of expected, run this into an amp and good speakers otherwise you will be disappointed. There doesn't appear to be a regular audio output so I use the headphone plug on the side to run to my amp.

    * As far as connectivity goes its well fitted, though do note that the 2nd hdmi connector is on the side of the screen so if you do use it you will have a cable sticking out of the side of your lovely monitor/tv.

    * viewing angle horizontally is superb (and the base swivels). Viewing angle vertically isn't great but its not an issue if you aren't standing over the thing or lying well below it on the floor. (also the base does not tilt)

    * also the screen is apparently actually 25.5 not 26 inch, didn't bother me but some people might be.

Overall, very very happy with this screen inded.

    It's a telly too!4
It's great monitor that even looks lovely before you've switched it on - but, more importantly, it has a DVB-T (Freeview) tuner built in. So, I just plugged in an aerial cable and now I have a fully functioning TV that works perfectly well without the PC switched on. I can even watch a bit of telly while I wait for Win XP to start.

My PC has a good TV card in it but I think the TV function on the monitor gives a better picture. I haven't tried this monitor with a HD source yet but the 1920 x 1200 monitor function is rock solid. Crysis and Half-Life 2 both look stunning at this resolution.

Gripes? There's a bit of a colour shift at oblique viewing angles, I don't think the sound through the built in speakers is that good and er.. well, that's it really. Unless I'm mistaken, there doesn't seem to be an audio out - which is a pity as it would be great if you could pipe the sound through a decent amp and speakers. Oh well - I guess you can't have everything - although it does have an optical out.

One final thought - where else could you get a Full-HD TV below 37"?
