Good, but gaps within examples...
Another great quality book from SAPPress, if you've got any other of their publications, you know the standard that they set. One thing I would say about this book is that it does require you have a particular section thoroughly nailed before you go onto the next one.

My major problem is with the example exercises, I think it could have a few more "step-by-step" and a little bit more "hand-holding" as it were... maybe I'm just being thick!

That said, it does explain all the concepts comprehensively, has non-trivial examples and gives the user all they need to create powerful WD4A applications.

A must have for starting out with Web Dynpro for ABAP
I have worked my way through this book and it is one of the best SAP learning books that I have read. If you don't know anything about Web Dynpro for ABAP and are reluctant to start with it; then get this book and work your way through it and after that you can conclude that now you have ample knowledge of Web Dynpro for ABAP.
