Split cane fly rods
After using graphite, there is something special about the feel of casting with a short (<8.5 feet) split cane fly rod. Hard to put into words but John Gierach's book "Fishing Bamboo" does a fine job. (Comment by Paul Kenyon, Fly Fishing Devon)
