Meet the little know and even less understood heroes of police work in Las Vegas - the forensic investigators, as they work to untangle the evidence behind the yellow police tape. Wednesday, 5.30am: in an off-the-strip, somewhat-out-of-the-way casino, a room service waiter rounds a corner and stumbles across a killer, and a corpse. Homicide detective Jim Brass summons Grissom and company to the scene. As Brass follows his instincts, Warrick and Sara folow evidence the killer left behind, and Nick and Catherine investigate a murder that's fifteen years new. Although focused at first on the perpetrator's deadly double-tap signature, Grissom will soon make the most troubling discovery of all: the inexplicable interest of FBI agent Rick Culpepper.

Customer Reviews
Excellent book that was difficult to put down
Having been introduced to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation via the TV episodes I thought I would try the books to see whether they would be as good in written form. What can I say other than this book did not disappoint!
The story begins with two cases with the team split up investigating both until eventually the evidence seems to suggest that both are linked.
As the story unfolded I found it harder to put down, often wanting to read just one more chapter to see what they would uncover next.
The ending was very well done leading you pretty much right to the last page to see whether the CSI's solved the case or not.
Recommended to both CSI and crime fiction fans alike!
Very very Addictive
I just couldn't put this book down before the end. It's like you're watching an episode on TV, you get caught in the story and you feel you're there. Collins captures the spirit of the TV show to its minor details. Simple and fast reading, easy understanding, all in all, a fantastic start to the CSI novelization series. Buy it, you won't regret it!
a definate double dealer
What can I say, but excellent! another great novel from Max Allan Collins. If you are a regular fan of the CBS series crime scene investigation then you'll love this book. You can imagine being in a room with these characters as they come to life, you can picture their facial expressions and mannerisms. Will they catch their killer, or will he/she get away with it?A highly compelling novel. a must have for any csi fan and their collection.
