    Superb starter set5
    This is a great little set to get started with proper size scalextric. My three year old learned some real hand/eye co-ordination very quickly. It also helps him with colours (of all the cars we are now using) and we do counting before the start of races so the set can be educational if you want it to.

    The cars supplied are the cheap looking Audi TTs but they are very robust which is exactly what you need with a starter set. They are fast and heavily magnetized which I am not keen on but it's useful for three year olds using the toy for the first time.

    Taking into account what you get with this set - 2 cars, complete litle circuit, power and controllers and all boxed - it is very good value for money.

    The reviewer who moaned about it not working should have contacted the seller to sort it out not moan about the product or Amazon.

    Since I bought this one I have bought some additional track and cars - there are lots of ways of doing that either online or at shops or toy fairs - it does not cost a fortune.

    Scalextric Starter Kit3
    This is about the cheapest scalextric kit that you can buy and there is a good reason for it. It is because you cannot really do anything with it. It gives you a good feel for the dimensions of the cars and track and initiates the mouth-watering potential of the fun that can be had from racing scalextric's slot cars, but nothing else. I would recommend it as a starter kit if you intend to buy extra pieces of track and cars to expand the set, like I do, but if you want an out-of-the-box race system then I would suggest that you take a look at some of the other kits.
