Customer Reviews

A struggle to refill...2
Much much cheaper to refill your cartridges than buy new ones but I'm struggling to decide whether the money saved is worth it!! The whole re-filling procedure is extremely fiddly and time consuming. It involved melting two holes, emptying the left over toner in the tanks, pouring the toner in (which took for ever as it didn't want to go in easily and so had to keep pushing it through the cartridge with a pencil), taping the holes up again which was the easy bit, removing the old chip with difficulty as its tiny (so you need a small screw driver), gluing the new one in and hey presto you've got a 'new cartridge'. Unfortunately this procedure for one cartridge took nearly 2 hours and was very messy, i appreciate it was my first try but still! The toner didn't all seem to fit in either and after i tried and tried to squeeze more in i just gave up! Furthermore although i'm glad it doesn't leak (which was one of my fears) the new refill toner isn't nearly as glossy as the toner that came with the printer - this is very disappointing as the main reason for choosing a colour laser printer for me was the glossy output without using special papers.

Overall it's a nice idea to be able to re-fill your own ink cartridges for a fraction of the price of buying new cartridges, but in reality its just not worth it...unless you enjoy fiddly, time consuming jobs! I'm not going to bother with one of these kits again and will just buy re manufactured ones instead.
