A real asset.
Robert Schmidt's book is bar far the best on the market for budding Business Objects report writers. I clearly explains the concepts involved without been patronising to the reader.

As a trainer of Business objects the book provides a great structured foundation on which to base a course, and the cd-rom is excellent. As well as providing training slides, the universes supplied make an nice change from the standard e-fashion and help to build up peoples confidence in using the application from opening a document to creating complex variables and linking data providers.

It must be noted that this is not designed as reference book (although can be used to look up various concepts), but does exactly what is says on the tin - which is to train people how to use the Business objects to its full potential.

Whether you are new to business objects or are looking to hone your skills and get more out of your reports then this book is for you.
