Product Description

Discipline can be the hardest part of a demanding job. Daily, teachers face defiance, baiting, procrastination, argumentative behaviour, swearing and aggression, as well as the more typical disruptive behaviours like calling out and task avoidance.

You Know the Fair Rule acknowledges the real difficulties in dealing with these behaviour patterns. Providing practical advice, it includes:

  • a range of practical strategies and skills that can be used to motivate and guide pupils
  • how to follow up with students beyond the classroom
  • working with behaviourally disordered pupils
  • working with the difficult class and Attention Deficit Disorder

Providing practical classroom strategies for use both in individual classes and across the school, You Know the Fair Rule will be welcomed by those who take on the most demanding jobs of all - teaching.

Customer Reviews

Helpful and Entertaining5
Lots of practical advice that actually works (I know, I used it in a school in the middle of Birmingham!) with terribly familiar examples described in an amusing way. I haven't got into a row with a student in the last two terms having read this.

The Best Classroom Management book I have ever read5
This book is truely excellent. Bill Rogers has a very easy to read and down to earth style of managing to suggest techniques for teachers in the classroom and in the school environment. It immediately becomes obvious that Bill is a teacher and is realistic about all the challenges that you can face. His suggestions are easy to implement and very effective. They may seem slightly strange when you first try them but you will soon be using them in all your classes. If you buy one book about teaching. Buy this, Thanks!

Great behaviour book!5
This boook is worth every penny, it has real life issues which it analyses and provides great advice. If you buy and read only one book on behaviour, you wouldn't go wrong with this one!
