Would not recommend.
Doesn't actually cover the entire syllabus, despite claims to the contrary.
Misses out enormous swathes of the Chemical Storylines material explicitly stated on the OCR Salters Specification, and gives shallow, unhelpful explanations of what's actually *there*.
Grab a copy of the OCR Salters Specification from the OCR Website, and then use that and Chemical Ideas/Storylines- the official course textbooks. You can do a *lot* better than this.
Granted, it's a revision *guide*. And, yes- it's concise. One can't help but feel that it's just a bit *too* concise, though. A few extra pages of padding out would have worked wonders.
Stay well away.
Thankfully, this specification's being phased out this year- hopefully, the next edition will make some headway in fixing these problems.
Revise chemistry A2 (new 3rd edition) Salters OCR Chemistry B
I guess this book is good for bringing it all into perspective . Guess it has to be used in collaboration with storylines and Chem ideas. If you don't know what those books are then.... maybe this one isn't what you need......
Heinemann Revise Chemistry
Both the AS and A2 Chemistry for Salters (OCR A Level Chemistry B) revision guides by Heinemann come highly recommended. They are concise and cover the vast majority of the syllabus. I particularly like the worked examples followed by the questions - excellent exam preparation.
