Reviews of the last edition
".this book does exactly what it says on the label. It provides an "at–a–glance" summary of pharmacology in 45 easily digested, bite–sized chunks.
.The writing is sharp, terse and unambiguous.
.Any student wanting a concise and accurate overview of pharmacology could do no better than start with this book."
The Pharmaceutical Journal
"I won′t beat around the bush: if you are a pre–clinical medical student and you don′t already own this book, buy it.
.There isn′t really another book out there which can complete with this title.
.The "At a Glance" series has expanded rapidly over the last few years, and this book remains the best of the lot.
.I would strongly urge you to get this book. There aren′t many books out there which I think every student should own. This is one of them."

Editorial Reviews
Review
"This is a good book to have on the shelf, to read as an introduction to get the big picture before tackling a topic in more detail, or as a concise but relatively thorough source of revision." GKT Gazette, Apr/May 2006
Black Bag, Medical Student's Society of Bristol University, August 1997 issue
... all you need to know for exams and exactly what you want to know to survive, clinical medicine book!
King's College Hospital Gazette, 1997 issue
I would recommend this book for medical students, science students and scientists who require a succinct account of pharmacology.
Customer Reviews
.
Whilst obviously written as a revision aid for medical students, I found this an excellent resource for nurses such as myself who only dabble in pharmacology - I've used it frequently to look up mechanisms of action, which are presented in a clear and concise way which I've not seen in other books. Very handy when you want to quickly check out how a drug works without having to wade through pages of complicated chemistry!
Top book, very useful for pre-clinical medics
Good book that covers almost everything you're likely to need to know for pre-clinical pharm exams. Can be used as a revision text, with helpful summary diagrams on each double page and explanations that include the very basics. Seems to have quite a comprehensive index of drugs that will make it a good reference book in the future as well. Highly recommended.
Covers the basics
This book is great because it has lots of illustrations, which aid with the learning process, so excellent for those last minute exams. This book is definately geared towards medical students, nurses and anyone in an allied health profession other than pharmacy. For students studying Pharmacy or Pharmacology this book is good enough for you to undersatnd the basics, but more in depth books would be required for you to gain the information needed to get those good answers in your degree. Great for understanding, but not comprehensive enough on it's own, for all students.
