Who wants an IPOD?
I was about to buy yet another IPOD, grimacing about spending anything upwards of £50.00. When lamenting about being locked into Itunes, again, a friend suggested one of these. An MP3 player, Radio, Voice recorder and it requires NO special software!! Get one and forget your Itunes frustrations forever. Excellent value for money.
Simply amazing
I *love* this mp3 player!
I have an iPod Classic 80GB and was looking for something a bit smaller to carry around and came across this.
This is such a great MP3 player, its really small and a beautiful design. The lights are nice and vibrant. The case looks and feels expensive.
Sound Quality: To me it sounds as good as an iPod.
I have all my mp3s in artist folders and I was able to just do a direct copy and paste into the Music folder on the mp3 player.
As it recognises ID3 tags (Title, Artist, Album) you can locate your music just like you would with an iPod.
Once a file is play you can press the centre button to show a cool equaliser display.
Volume: The volume range is really good, from just about audible to very loud.
FM Radio: Really easy to use. You can autoscan to create a preset list which you can scroll through with the middle button. On the Radio menu you can also access the recording function to record radio.
Voice recording: Very clear and good quality.
The Menu is really easy to use unlike quite alot of cheaper mp3 players I have used in the past.
If you are looking for an mp3 player / FM radio / Voice record I would REALLY recommend this, I was blown away with how cool it is.
I didn't think I could find anything that would come anywhere close to an iPod's mp3 playing functionality but I would even consider selling mine as I find this mp3 player so good!
Sensational Sansa Clip
Being a bit of a technophobe (I still haven't explored the full possibilities of my Nokia 3300 - and as for texting.....!)I was looking for an MP3 player that was really REALLY easy to use, with a great storage capacity.
I came across the Sandisk Sansa Clip by accident while doing an internet search for 8Gb SD cards and the looks really struck me. It's just like a Mini-me iPod. In fact it was so iPod-ish it was difficult to judge the size.
Googling for reviews, helped there. Without exception they were all very positive and one compared the size to a matchbox - and it's true. It's a very snug fit but it will go into a matchbox! Amazing!
What really sold it to me though, was the tiny little screen. Other MP3's around this size don't have one at all and I just couldn't get my head round how you could use them without one.
After much procrastination (I really am a technophobe)I took the plunge and ordered two - one for me and one for my wife.
I went for Amazon as the price was good and delivery was fantastic. Ordered at 4pm they were in my hands by 11 o'clock the next day!
Within 10 minutes (no exaggeration) there were 100 songs on one to give it a try. (Just click and drag existing MP3 tunes from the existing library, it's as easy as that.)
It's easy to navigate around using the click wheel and drop down menus and whie doing that the real killer feature was discovered - a graphic equaliser!! Five pre-sets and one custom.
I'm using the custom, set up as recommended by someone on the Sansa Clip user forum. Works great and really sharpened up the sound, giving it an extra bit of sparkle.
To top all of this it has a built in FM receiver which, to be honest, I haven't really used - but a great bonus feature that I must try out sometime.
The only other thing I've 'customised', apart trom the G.E. is the headset.
I prefer the small in-ear type. More discrete, more comfortable and exclude a lot of outside noise - but the supplied earphones are absolutely fine.
Would I recommend it?
Without a shadow of a doubt.
In fact I have - and several people at work have bought them after seeing and trying mine. It's a cracking piece of kit, looks the business, is really easy to use, oozes quality and looks sensational.
Buy one, you won't be disappointed.
