Why does everyone love this overlong, hugely disappointing insomnia cure. It's criminally style-free, thematically & narratively limp & the action's less exciting than an episode of The Flying Doctors

This film is absolutely appalling! It is awfully acted, written & especially directed. The music is the only saving grace Embarrassing filmmaking.

This is a clumsily structured & directed, poorly acted movie. Miscast beyond belief, the film consists of spinning aerial shots of New Zealand landscape. For 4 HOURS!

I can't say I'm a fan of David Lean's 'epic' period; his earlier, 'modest' films are FAR superior to my mind. This drags unnecessarily and lacks characterisation.

This film is frequently dubbed the 'Best British Film Ever!' In my humble opinion it's no such thing; not even close. It's reasonably good however, with nice cinematography & a fun cameo from Welles.

This film hasn't aged well. Hopkins is too hammy as Lector while the film is an efficient thriller but lacking in insight. Foster's good but director Demme's earlier films are much better.

This film is no big deal at all; yet another Oscar winner which is ok but nothing special. The film could've done with an hour of trims. The far superior Spartacus is longer still yet feels shorter.

I really dislike this movie. An anemic thriller with a hopelessly sloppy narrative with all the prepulsion of a paper aeroplane and painfully bad performances from Jean Reno & Gary Oldman.

Star Wars is another influential movie which has a bloated reputation; it's perfectly entertaining but not a patch on the Akira Kurosawa films which inspired Lucas to make it.

A load of crap! All Baz Luhrman's films are cringe-inducingly hyperactive, shrill, noisy & over the top campathons. Please will someone stop the man from making any more!?

This is a fine action movie. It is certainly not the greatest action film ever made though; that's ridiculous hyperbole. Last Boy Scout is a better Willis Action-Thriller.

Intriguing but nonsensical thriller; good on first viewing but its vapidity is cruelly revealed on repeat spins. Pete Postlewaite is fricking awful in support.

A very good adventure film but I don't think it's the masterpiece most claim. Indeed I believe the sequel Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom is a superior work.
