It's a little cold today, don't you think?
The Day After Tomorrow is an amazing movie, with some spectacular effects sequences and great acting. Normally novelizations of movies aren't that good, they're short and just follow the script word for word, but some do occasionally rise above that level and become a good read. This is one of those books. It's well written, and adds a great deal of detail to what you see in the film. It also includes all the scenes they cut out, so you get all that extra stuff. The book is an excellent companion to the film, so get a hold of it if you can.

Great Novelization!
I read the novelization "The Day After Tomorrow" after seeing the previews for the movie. The book was great and makes me want to see the movie more. The writer was able to action seem real with many details. This was a great book and the movie will be great too.

Wonderful
To be honest the main reason I decided to read The Day After Tomorrow was because of how popular the book has become over the past few years. The Day After Tomorrow is the story of a climatologist by the name of Jack Hall who watches in horror as his prediction of a second ice age and mass world destruction happens right before his eyes due to a rather tragic imbalance of salt water and fresh water. Millions of peoples' lives are put on the line, including his son Sam who has to strive to keep alive along with a few fellow schoolmates and citizens of New York City. I won't spoil the ending for you all, but I must say I was quite pleased at the fairly optimistic outcome of the story and I would gladly read it again. Although the particular events and the characters in the story are all fictional, several of the science tidbits were very interesting to think about, especially for someone who enjoys the study of weather or climatology. For instance, when Jack makes a statement claiming that an ice chunk broke off of the Larsen B Ice Shelf in Antarctica and was the size of Rhode Island, he was correct. This really did happen and the disintegration of this shelf due to global warming was also mentioned in Al Gore's recent book, An Inconvenient Truth. Overall, The Day After Tomorrow's storyline unfolded very fast with several cliffhangers, as the author Whitley Strieber switches the narration of each chapter between characters. I would say this is suitable for people of most ages, especially if you are interested in science. Most of the concepts in the book are easy to understand and I enjoyed it very much, as I hope you will too. Have fun!
