You Won't Be Able to Put it Down!5
Falling for You isn't a simple book to describe. The book is certainly *not* about Maddy and Kerr, the couple featured on the book jacket and in the Amazon book description. Sure, Maddy and Kerr get things started off - but I didn't doubt for one minute that they weren't meant for each other. The plot is really more about their families and friends - and how the past can keep you from living the present to its fullest. Maddy's family hates Kerr's (blaming them for a tragic incident). Maddy and Kerr meet (after many years) and you know what happens next. But there's also Maddy's childhood-friend-turned-enemy who returns home to heal her physical and emotional scars only to find her parents aren't what they seem, Maddy's womanizing brother, Maddy's current friends who are trapped in bad relationships (or prevented by fate from being in a relationship.) And Maddy's mum, who directs all the action in one way or another. Once again, Mansell makes her secondary characters shine and the ancillary plots provide the surprises, the plot twists, and the storytelling richness that we all love in a Mansell novel. (I will warn you - pay very close attention in the first 3 or 4 chapters in order to keep all the players straight!) While there's plenty of happiness to go around at the end, it's not a totally predictable read - I certainly didn't spot on of the "baddies" right off. It took me just two days to get through this on an incredibly busy weekend. I didn't want to stop reading until I knew just how everything - and everyone - turned out!

Really Fab. 5
I really really enjoyed this book. It's my second Jill Mansell, and half way through it I came on Amazon and ordered a further 5 of her books. That's how good a writer she is. I'm aiming to own all her books.

Anyway, the characters in this book are fab. I completely was in love with Jake and Kerr. And, I hated Kate for the first half of this book, But i grew to love her too. Jill Mansell has a fabulous way of having lots of different characters, but never getting you confused with who is who. She even givs the pets their part, and now I want a bulldog called Norris!

Also, I fully understood why Marcella was angry towards the McKinnon's, so I never thought it was petty. This book had quite a few shocks in it too that took the story on another exciting twist which added to the fun. And it was never predictable shocks either, totally un-expected! You also find yourself rooting for the characters, when they are going through tough times you really want things to get better for them

If i have any criticism it is that at the end of the book, the pregnant character (who I dont want to reveal so I dont spoil it) has still not had her baby so we never know the sex. I think the book could of had one last short '6 months later' chapter. But apart from that it is a truly perfect read. Jill Mansell is officially my favourite author and I cant wait to read the rest of her books.

Pure genius!5
I hadn't read a Jill Mansell book in a while but I picked this one up and loved it from start to finish. It reminded me of Ms Mansell's earlier stories, which I feel were her best books. "Falling for You" has all the ingredients that make up a brilliant and amusing story.

If you have to take only one book on holiday with you this year, then I recommend that you take this one. You'll laugh, I guarantee it!
