Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
For Thompson, it was somewhere around Barstow that the drugs started to kick-in. For the listener it'll seem to be before they've even hit Play by looking at the cover and contents. Terry Gilliam's efforts to warp expectation stretch out to you before you've seen or heard a thing. And once you're in, it's a case of blasting from one song to the next via constant nasally-delivered dialogue from Johnny Depp. Strung together they somehow make a sense they never did individually. "One Toke Over The Line", "Expecting To Fly", or "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again" were never career bests for Brewer & Shipley, Buffalo Springfield, or Bob Dylan. Yet slotted betwixt the likes of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" and Perry Como's "Magic Moments" there's an unexpected chemistry anyone can get high on. --Paul Tonks

Let sweet sounds of Vegas and psychedelics fill the air.4
Viva Las............Vegassssssssss

'Combination Of The Big Two' blasts out the first track, with heart pounding wah wah from 'Big Brother' to get you in the mood for the unecpecting sounds of Johnny Depp, "We had two bags of grass".

This sound track compliments the film with every song. Whether your in the desert listing to 'Jefferson Airplane-White Rabbit', or racing around a hotel room listing to 'Yard Birds-For Your Love".

With bonus tracks of film dialogue and constant moody swings between tracks such as 'Bob Dylan-Stuck Inside blues', to 'Three Dogs Night-Momma Told Me Not To Come', keeps them free love 60's years alive and kicking.

Awesome and funny5
If you liked the film then youll like this album.

The tunes are great and the way theyre pieced together by bits of dialogue makes this a laugh to listen to.

Simply Brilliant5
This album does a good job of putting the book/film down in a musical journey. The music and dialogue clips are great at prompting memory of the film and also remind you a)how great Johhny Depp was in it and b)how amazing Hunter S Thompson's words are. A Depp-read audiobook would be a top idea! A great collection of tunes too, (White Rabbit and For Your Love...excellent tracks in particular) if you love the film and the book..how can you not love this!
