If only all soundtracks were as fun as Logan's Sanctuary
Several years ago "Logan's Sanctuary" was reviewed in Mojo and I was sufficiently intrigued to track it down. Because it had a limited release it wasn't easy. Finally, about 2 years ago, I found it for sale on the Emperor Norton Records website and purchased it.
The brainchild of ex-Jellyfish supremo Roger Manning Jr (with a little help from another former bandmate Jason Falkner), "Logan's Sanctuary" imagined a sequel to 70s camp classic "Logan's Run" and provided the appropriate music to play against this movie of the mind. Utilising ancient synths throughout the album, "Logan's Sanctuary" is a wondrous journey back to a more innocent era of progressive pop/rock music (Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream) with hints of disco and lounge ambience.
It is an absolute must-have for anyone who appreciates ironic humour and a hint of nostalgia.
