Featuring a brand new adventure filled with numerous enhancements and innovations, this long-awaited sequel to Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow greatly improves upon the series' winning formula, making for an even more insanely addictive and wholly absorbing gaming experience.

Like Pokémon Gold, which is essentially the same story with minor gameplay variations, Pokémon Silver casts players in the familiar role of a young Pokémon Trainer who is out to collect as many different kinds of Pokémon as possible. As in previous games, gameplay consists mostly of exploration (completing various quests in the process) and Pokémon battles, which employ a unique battle-system that is like a complex twist on rock-paper-scissors.

But despite the similarities, it's quite apparent that Pokémon Silver is a whole new ball game from the start. The game is played out in real time, with the current time and day-of-the-week (recorded by an internal clock) having a direct impact on gameplay elements such as what Pokémon you will find in the wild, and when certain events occur and characters appear.

While there are simply too many new and improved features in Pokémon Silver to list here, among the highlights are 100 new Pokémon (including two new types), new evolution processes (including breeding) and a more streamlined game interface with better-organized menus and button shortcuts.

Although it's easier to progress in Pokémon Silver than the previous games, the sheer amount of fun and game time involved is daunting. You would be really hard-pressed to find a better value gamethan this. --Joe Hon

THE BEST POKEMON GAME FOR ANY CONSOLE TO DATE!
This (along with Pokemon Gold which is virtually the same)is probably the best game there is for Game Boy. It's got the perfect blend of RPG and fighting, and is a vast improvement over the now dated Pokemon Red/Blue. Includes addition of Johto AND Kanto (the world from Red, Blue and Yellow) with new Pokemon; 8 new badges and gym leaders; a Pokegear which includes map, phone and radio; real-time built-in clock; nocturnal Pokemon: the list of improvements is endless. All I can say now is roll on Pokemon Advance!!!

The best game ever
This is a brilliant game. A fabulous sequal to the red and blue versions.With 100 new pokemon to catch and new attacks for them to boot this is definitely the best game out on gameboy at the moment. With playing abilities in colour too this is a must have for any gameboy fan.

this time makers nitendo have created thier most atmospheric world ever now with new time keeping added it kicks the asses of every other pokemon game there is you would love to buy this game pokemon is the top selling games of all time and nintendo must of had a target to beat themselves at thier own game because they certainly overcome it with th new pokemon , new moves and (you thought it couldent be done ) but new obstacles to overcome the new pokemon hardley blend in with the old ones as now they draw ecermore lagging behind the original pokemon are seeing stars as they are taken down one by one by the all new pokemon like marril and not forgettin the sludge monster from under your bed who we will remain unnamed for a suprise for all of you this game will certainly be a hit as soon as the new little fella's hit the shelve's here are its score's

gameplay: it has ace gameplay as the liddle dudes move around the screen with such agility 7/10

graphics:not to good seeing as its a gameboy game but good 5/10

lifspan: it now takes a long while to complete this coz you have to go back to the old pokemon world so Ash Ketchum can make his apperance yet again so 10/10
