We've all seen the adverts. A dog is for life and not just for Christmas. But Teksta is willing to change all this. Well, sort of. The great thing about Teksta is that if it gets just that tad bit annoying, you can always turn him off.

That's right, turn him off, for Teksta is not your average dog, and not your average toy. It is actually a robotic puppy capable of a host of tricks. Whether it's singing and dancing, or merely yapping, Teksta is an ideal companion to anyone young at heart.

Okay, so it all sounds very Blade Runnerish, but for the "modern family" this dog is quite cute. Coming with multiple sensors on the nose, eyes, mouth and head, it constantly interacts with you as it wags its tail and wobbles around in the puppy style that we all know and love.

If this wasn't enough, you can also teach Teksta to do a number of tricks; fetch, howl at the moon, make rude noises and even wake-up songs after he's fallen asleep.

But be warned, this little pup needs 4 AA batteries to work and a small screwdriver to access the battery case so be prepared when it comes to giving this as a present, otherwise the chaos that will ensue will mean that you'll be the one in the dog house. --Stuart Miles
