Product Description

Since when did the classic game Operation go all HAL 9000 on us? By riffing on the Milton Bradley medley of surgery and circuitry, the folks at New Entertainment have dressed up their game of steady-handed extraction with a dash of silly, spinning cyborg. It's still the same premise: tiny organs--here, things like a loose screw or proton battery--have to be removed from the metal-rimmed pockets on the patient, using a pair of metal forceps wired to three AA batteries (not included). If a shaky hand causes a metal-to-metal connection, Robo's arms spin and he makes nervous, twitchy sounds. Danger Will Robinson! indeed.

Amazon.co.uk Review
Manufacturers Recommended Age: 5 and over. 3 x AA Batteries required (not included)

An updated version of the all-time favourite Operation, Robo Doc is great game for children who enjoy pitting their wits against opposition, proving their skill, concentration and co-ordination.

Robo is a sick robot, with a tear in his eye and a pitiful wail that simply begs you to make him better. To cure him of his ills, all you have to do is remove various parts of his robotic anatomy without making him scream out in pain. Simple enough, maybe, but if you hurt him his head revolves madly and he cries out loudly, leaving the players in little doubt that they have lost their turn.

Robo Doc is pretty cool: a great concept with lots of noise and robotic shenanigans to keep young players happy. Keep away from the very young, as there are lots of small parts that could be easily swallowed (not to mention lost!), but in the right hands this fun game has the potential to keep your budding surgeons happy for hours. --Susan Harrison

Manufacturer's Description
If it hurts - take it out! Fun rhymes on playing cards tell you which of the 12 Robodoc parts to remove with tweezers--each part has a point value. Robo twists and whimpers as you try to fix him, but upset Robo and you're in trouble--his head spins, he yells and you lose the round. Highest score wins! Excellent fun for all the family but not for the squeamish! Battery spec: 3x AA.

Family Fun4
This is a very good game for teaching patience and dexterity. You can use the cards to encourage counting skills. Good fun for all the family

Robodoc Game4
RoboDoc is a nice version of the classic steady hand “beat the buzz” type game where players must perform tasks without causing the buzzer the sound.

In this case the scenario centres around poor old RoboDoc who’s not feeling too well. Players must draw cards which will tell them which of RoboDoc’s faulty components needs to be removed to make him feel better. There are some nice touches here with the components having quite humorous names and descriptions and the cards give the impression that we really are trying to help RoboDoc.

If the player is unsuccessful in removing the component then RoboDoc will squeal in pain and his head and arms spin round. The movements are quite hilarious and younger players will be entertained by RoboDoc’s antics.

The only drawbacks I would say are that again it is a game with numerous small pieces and there is always the dangerous that these can get easily lost. Secondly the actual removal of the components is quite hard and whilst this will keep older children (and adults) quite challenged, younger children (and this is aimed at 5+ according to the manufacturers) could become easily disenchanted with it all.

On the plus points, it is easily assembled, seems to be quite rigid. Gameplay is easy and requires no minute reading of rules etc and the fun nature of the tasks and RoboDoc’s reactions should keep all amused.

The best much better than the rest!5
After about 3 years I still love it. It's quite frustrating when his head turns around because you havent't managed to take/put the pieces out/in. (haven't played for ages).

But that just wants to make you play it again. It is such a fantastic game!

YOU...JUST...HAVE...TO...BUY...IT. Its wonderful you have to buy it this a true opionin not like someyou find, this toy is aged 6++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++-91
