Fantastic Picture Quality
When I plugged my new PS2 in with the composite video cable supplied, I was disappointed with the picture quality (although the sound through my Sony Home Cinema System was FANTASTIC). The picture was worse than my RGB connected Dreamcast, especially for games such as Rayman. After a lot of investigation about RGB scart connectors and S-video, I decided to try this official SONY product out.

The results are immediate and outstanding (although beware that I only use the PS2 for games, so it is untested with DVD playback). The picture is so crisp, colours excellent, with no shadowing effect around text. This is an excellent cable and its not worth paying the £30 - £40 for the Sony RGB scart connector.

Better than arial and scart put together this is a must if you have a compatible TV.

Truly amazing difference between the standard lead that comes with the PS2 and this official S-Video connector... combined with a digital-optical lead for audio.. means that you will get the best possible audio and video output from the PS2.
The only thing that could let you down then is possibly your 5.1 digital surround system or your television... but i've had no problems :)
