Totally pointless
I purchased this stand on the strength of the item description. 'It appears to float' it said... Please tell me what you were smoking when you said that?!...(who-ever you are)...
Needless to say, i was very disappointed. You look at the PS2 on this stand, and it is just like looking at it on its own... only, it has a blue strip at the bottom... wow!!

Pointless in theory but effective in practice
10 quid for a plastic stand might sound bizarre but it actually works very well in particular circumstances. If you use the ps2 in a room which has vibrations (from the walls or whatever :) this will help to stabilise the unit and thus cut down on crashes during the unit accessing a CD. The stand works through four large circular feet that attach within the base of the ps2 (you take the original rubber feet out) and it has new rubber feet underneath it. It sticks to the ps2 like glue and, as other reviewers have said, looks really nice too.

A peice of plastic [but it does have a blue plastic stripe]
I'm not sure why this peice of plastic is made. I have nothing against the people who bought it because it has a cool blue bit at the bottom. I have heard people at school saying this gives the console extra stabilty. I think they must have got it mixed up with the vertical stand. You don't need the horizontal stand for it to be sturdy [unless your house is subject to repeated stampedes] and even then the console is capable to stand up on it's own. The horizantal stand has rubber feet (4). And [here is the incredible bit] the PS2 also has [identical] rubber feet so I don't see what this has to offer about stability. I don't own one yet but I've seen one in action.

However it does make up for this with a cool blue stripe and I must admit this is tempting to buy it because of this but it really is just a piece of plastic. 4 stars [I would buy it if I had enough money but I personally am saving for MGS2]
