Customer Reviews
It's a remote control for your PS2..
There's not an awful lot to say about this remote control, you plug the IR module into your first controller port then plug your controller into it, sit back and control your PS2's DVD functions from the comfort of your armchair and er that's it!
The controller is a lot better than using a DualShock 2 to control your movie watching and does the job pretty well, it doesn't have some buttons a normal standalone DVD player's remote would have such as "Angle", so you have to use your PS2's DVD menu options but for the most used functions you're fine.
One thing to be aware of though is that when using your PS2 to actually play games the IR module may pick up any IR signals from *other* remotes, your TV's remote if you change volume for example, then it may not recognise your DualShock 2 controller anymore! I've found pressing the analogue button on the controller seems to make it recognise it again so it's not too much of a problem and isn't a fault of the remote really anyway.

Like the size - pretty streamlined. Now for the bad news: 1. I find the buttons tiny and hard to remember which does what. 2. there is repetition of one or two - no big deal and, 3. the IR port is pretty dodgy. Yeah, it does allow a controller to be inserted at the same time, but If I plug in my controller into it most of the time it does not work. I need to wrangle it to make a connection. I've only had it a short while and have looked after it well. Going to get a Sony PS2 controller instead.
Just the job.....
Need a remote for your PS2? - just get this one. It's very quick to install (10 seconds), and has everything you need (except on/off function - unless I've missed a menu button somewhere!). It dosen't look bad in Slot 1 - better than a set top receiver - you can't go wrong with this!!
