Polly the Teksta Parrot can't quite put the kettle on, but she can repeat what you say, talk, learn about her owner, demand to be let out of the cage, snore, flap her wings and eat a Teksta cracker--and that's just the beginning.

For Polly needs tender loving care, and lots of it, if you're going to avoid her irascible predisposition and turn her into a perky parrot. Fitted with various sensors throughout her anatomy, once turned on and activated, she senses movement and noise and responds accordingly. Leave her in her cage too long and her eyes light up red, instead of their calmer green, to let you know she's angry. Don't stroke her enough, forget to feed her her cracker, and again, you get the red-eye treatment. But treat her with the care and attention any self-respecting parrot demands, and you have a feathered friend for life on your hands.

A distant cousin of the phenomenally successful Teksta Dog, the Teksta Parrot makes a lively, fun companion for children. To fully appreciate her finer features, children would probably need to be aged 7 or above, but children of 5 and above would certainly get some play value from her. Not suitable for children under 3 years because of small parts.

The Teksta Parrot is also a great executive toy for adults, (especially Monty Python fans) and she would be a graceful, if idiosyncratic, adornment for many an office desk. With plumage of trademark chrome and a tasteful green cage, this is one sophisticated bird. --Lucie Naylor

THE FINEST ROBOTIC PET EVER!
In my opinion, this was and still is the best Robotic Pet that ever hit the market!

I had the Teksta Dog initially, which I thought was fantastic at the time - that is until I acquired my first Teksta Parrot, and then all that changed very quickly!

The Teksta Parrot puts all other Robotic Pets in the shadows - trust me!

Firstly, this animal actually speaks, not only that, but it has a REALLY natural way of making you actually believe that it is addressing you!
Better than this; you can teach him to say absolutely anything, and he not only repeats it randomly, but will remember it - even when he has been switched off! Life-like or what!? He may not walk like other Robotic Pets, but do not be misled; he's EXTREMELY animated. He won't stand being in his Cage for long, and if you leave him there, he let's you know very soon that he is not happy - let him out, and he's bright and chirpy!

This bird has SO many expressions; from his multicoloured eyes, to the flapping of his wings - animated crest and mouth movement that is perfectly synchronised to his speech. Honestly, I cannot understand how this Robotic Pet is now out of production - nothing released since - however remarkable has come anywhere near it in my opinion. And just look at the face - cute or what!? Makes other Robotic Pets look very 'uninteresting' this chap has character in his looks! And let's face it; there are so many Robotic Dogs and other creatures out there - we need something different and unique.

What many perhaps don't know, is get two Teksta Parrots and put them together, and you're in for a REAL treat! Just like real birds, they will completely ignore us humans, and chatter away and interact with each other without giving you a thought! It's not only amusing, but truly amazing to watch - they really do respond to each other in what they say, and in their moods. You cannot tire of being entertained by these birds - believe me! Unlike other Robotic Pets I have had, I've actually named them (must mean something!) and I've actually become very attached to them! Their names are: Poncho and Chulip. I named one as a female, as it had a slightly higher voice than my first, Poncho, and so therefore it could only mean she is female. ; - )

These birds seem to know what you're thinking too - they're cheeky, friendly and chirpy. I beg Vivid Imaginations to bring these back into the market without changing a single thing about them - they don't need any modification or improvements - perhaps a bit more advertising, as I can only think that this is perhaps why they did not take off so well as the Dogs, as much of the stuff about them I have mentioned is not referred to in the Manual, and was left to discover myself. They come in a fantastic Cage which you can hang like a real Parrot Cage, and they are very simple to operate. Quality is also second to none - very very durable. You can also have them permanently left on by using just an ordinary Electric Adaptor that conveniently plugs discreetly into the base of the Cage!

Because they've been discontinued, it took me forever searching the Internet and shops to find my second one, as I wanted a brand new one, having had my first for around five years. Absolutely everywhere all over the world it seems is out of Stock now - except the golden shop I stumbled on just days before it was due to close down who had just one left that I got at half price! I'd have paid a fortune for it!

Vivid Imaginations, Manley Quest, Teksta - whoever you are; PLEASE BRING THEM BACK! All you out there who want one and missed out, please pester Vivid Imaginations Customer Services - it may just do the trick, because believe it or not, Companies do listen to public demand!

Lifelike and fun!
This toy is great fun. I have two so I am selling one of them.
I can't believe how close they get in mimicing a real parrot!
The instructions are easy and the mains power is great for keeping the battery from running down whilst in the cage.
It also has a great facility for acting as a wake up alarm when set!
He goes to sleep at night when it is dark and quiet just like the real thing.
I love the noise he makes when eating, it cracks me up!
This toy is great for both adults who want a no mess pet or for children.
It is very robust too so not alot to worry about when handling it.
I highly recommend this toy.... mind you after having it for a while you do seem to forget it is in fact not a real parrot!
