Customer Reviews

Like FF on the SNES and NES? Then you'll love this5
Well many of you may not know yet but the N in N generation stands for Nintendo so this is an album containing music from the SNES and NES (ie FFI-VI).

So what can you really expect to get out of this album? Well, there's a large amount of music that you won't have heard before on this CD, mainly because it covers FFI-VI and the only ones released in Europe were FFI,IV,VI (Released as FFI,II,III respectively). So many of you won't think this album will be worth buying, but let me tell you, it definitly is.

On this CD is 16 tracks, and I must say that there is a huge variety of styles here. We have music from Celtic Moon, the FFIV/FFII album which contained music that was reworked into a Celtic style, so instead of Square's attempt of bringing us huge bombastic orchestral scores we have fiddles and a flute. Interestingly enough however this does seem to work amazingly and the tracks it's concerned with such as "Welcome to our Town!" are some of the most memorable tracks there. We also have a variety of orchestral scores including the Operatic "Aria De Mezzo Carattere" (Celes' theme), and the fabulous "Scene VII" from the Final Fantasy Symphonic Suite. There's also some piano tracks as well including "Final Fantasy" the long running FF theme (not the harp one, but that is on there too), and "Dear Friends" which is a very nice song but I feel it's one of the few songs that let the CD down. And for those who love birds and cats (yes, you know what I'm about to say) there is the Chocobo theme and the Moogle theme both in there light hearted glory.

Overall this is a grand CD, I think that even those who have never played any of the Final Fantasy games will agree that this shows some of the FF composer's (Nobou Uematsu)best work. This is a must buy for any FFI-VI fan.
