Springfield has been converted into one giant skate park in The Simpsons Skateboarding. Here's your opportunity to thrash on top of, under, over, and through Springfield Elementary, KrustyLu Studios, the Kwik-E-Mart, the Springfield Gorge, Itchy and Scratchy Land, the Power Plant, and other locales. Everyone in town is jumping into the action, vying for the $99 in prize money. Each character has more than 40 moves, including unique tricks such as Bart's "In Your Dreams" move and Homer's "Stinkyfish."
In addition to the Simpson family, players can select other favourites such as Otto, Professor Fink, Nelson and Krusty the Clown. Each character brings to the event his or her own tricks, personality and dialogue, recorded by the actual voice talent from the TV show. The game's five modes include Freeskate, Skate Fest, Trick Contest, Skillz School, and skateboard H-O-R-S-E. The more you skate, the more hidden boards, characters and levels you unlock. The Simpsons Skateboarding includes single, dual, and head-to-head modes.

A real Train Wreak of a game...
I don't know if the other reviewers have bothered to play the game or are just displaying their love for the Simpons but this is not a Tony Hawks beater, worse is it's not even fun to play.
Now don't get me wrong, i love simpsons, been a fan since i was in the single digits when the more 'adult' jokes sailed over my head, but i'm getting off topic.
Here are my problems with the game after playing it so far:
1)Tried to emulate Tony Hawks, but without the playable physics, the controls are sluggish, the turning circle is huge and the board lacks any real speed.
2)Buying new tricks and skills does not improve you're character. I maxed out barts stats and even then skating at top speed on flat ground i could not get him to preform a 360 flip without him bailing out on the landing.
3)The levels have been built without skateboarding being the priority, seriously, it looks like someone built the area map and someone else stuck a bunch of ramps in there with no real thought of flow or gameplay, the levels are vast, but theres nothing to do in them.
4)Collision, it's awful, grinds, ramps, some parts of the levels, do not act as they do in titles they are trying to ape such as Tony Hawk or Matt Hoffmans pro BMX.
5)The load screen has a load screen!
6)Another thing about the load times, you have to sit through one for each and every task you have to preform in the tutorial section, these loads actually take longer than the task itself.
7)The graphics are awful, the characters have a certain charm, however the levels suffer from poor large polygon low detail design with terrible texture mapping everywhere that is not flat shaded, true the show itself is somewhat flat in its design, but nothing like this, it's a shame they did not make the levels smaller and put more detail in and better gameplay, bigger is not always better.
I could go on, but i'm taking this game back tomorrow morning and getting my money back.
The best simpsons game ever
The Simpsons Skateboarding is vitually the same as Tony Hawks but with Bart and Homer doing the skating instead.
The best features in Simpsons skateboarding are, there are 10 fairly big levels with 5 objectives to complete in each level , 9 skaters including Bart, Homer, otto, Marge etc, there are 3 modes in single player mode and 2 in multiplayer which are all very good and not that difficult.
The bad things about this game are it is nowhere near as good as Tony Hawks 3 or 4 but saying that it is still a very good game also the commentary during game can get very anoying but you turn the commentary off so it is not really a problem.
Overall an excellent game it is much better than 'Simpsons road rage' ideal for people who enjoy the Tony Hawks games and Simpson fans.
Merchandising, Nothing More!
I bought this game a few years back as I have always been a Simpsons fan. However, the minute I first played the game I realised that I had just wasted my money. The game is so "BORING", you just spend all of your time trying to rack up points before the time runs out and for what? Nothing that's what! The tricks you can perform are really dull and even the really complex ones leave you feeling less than impressed once you've performed them.
Basically there is no real reason to play this game. Nothing about it makes you WANT to play this game. It's so boring and your not really achieving anything. Plus you only have a few characters, 8 in total, which also leaves you feeling cheated.
To me this game is nothing but another cheap and shoddy merchandising creation from the Simpsons. Don't get me wrong, other Simpsons games are cool, my favourite being Hit And Run, fantastic! But this is in the same league as a Homer doorstop and The Simpsons talking bottle opener, hell even that thing was more fun than this game! Just don't bother!
