Amazon.co.uk Review
Pro Evolution Soccer has established itself as the football game of choice among discerning PS2 owners. With each new addition to the series, Konami makes major improvements to the gameplay and graphics. Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is no exception; it really is miles better than Pro Evolution Soccer 2.
The first thing you'll notice in this third instalment is how much more lifelike it is. Not only are the graphics much more detailed, but the player animation is now realistically fluent and the ball behaves as an actual Size 5 would. Squint and you really will think you're watching Sky Sports.
Pro Evolution Soccer 3's gameplay is perfectly balanced. Whatever your favoured way of playing the Beautiful Game (total football or long ball, it's up to you) Pro Evolution Soccer 3 accommodates that preference. Controls are sharp and responsive, and with the right combination of button presses it's possible to perform just about any manoeuvre or trick in Real Madrid's repertoire. That's how comprehensive this simulation is.
As a single-player experience, Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is a far sight more challenging than its predecessors were: the Master League mode is expanded still further and the artificial intelligence is a tough nut to crack. And, as was expected, this third game in the series takes multiplayer PlayStation 2 gaming to new heights. --Jonti Davies

PES3 has the same sort of gameplay as PES2, but with some big tweaks, it feels more like football when you play it. If you were thinking about getting Club Football or FIFA 2004, Well don't as PES3 is the winner, although Club Football is pretty decent as well.
Still the best Football series....
Pro Evo Soccer 3 continues were its predecessors left off: as the best Playstation 2 football game.
Forget FIFA, forget This is Football, forget Club Football: for the most playable, realitic and satisfying computerised soccer experience, it simply HAS to be Pro Evo 3!
The problems with the 3rd installment in Konami's series are much the same as ever before... licensing issues and commentary. It's getting tiresome now, and I pray that one day Konami will finally get the full licenses (AC Milan, Juve, Lazio and Roma all have the FULL licenses - logos, kits, players etc.. it's a start!!) and sort out Peter Brackley and Trevor Brooking. The entire Welsh, Dutch and German (amongst others) have no license and players such as Giggs and Van Nistelrooy are replaced with favourites such as Gills and Von Mistelroy!
The edit section is improved however, and these details can all be changed - if you have the time and/or patience.
Well they're the bad points... what about the good points? Well, quite simply, Pro Evo makes you feel good. Some of the little touches and fluencies in the game will take your breath away... Whether playing by your self or with a friend/group of friends, you will always find new things and will never grow tired of the fluent gameplay.. Pro Evo is the most satisfying, enjoyable and realistic football game money can buy!
Pro Evolution Soccer 3 - PES2
PES 3 is set to eat up our lives very soon.
Based on Winning Eleven 7, here are a few details on what to expect in the new game:-

The master league now has only European teams competing. By dividing into four leagues that make up Divison 1, you start from Divison 2 of each league. The main aim is to qualify to KCET’S version of the UEFA Champions League, the WEFA Champions League.

It is guessed that 6 more teams are available from is Spain, Germany and France.
- Some of the Italian club teams names are now correct
- There is a player search now available
Motion
Operativity is those with change. Although there is sense of incongruity at first, it will get used gradually.
- When a right stick is turned, u know perform the Marseilles turn motion. (Only specific players are able to do this move)
- A manual pass is changed into pushing a right stick.
- Players supply water. There are also players who will have bandages due to injuries.
- Hair flutters according to a motion.
- AI strengthening.
- The referees now play advantage.
- The motion of off ball has been improved.
- The formations screen has now been simplified. Attack/defense consciousness, a setup in the many directions is possible.
- On the formation screen there is now a simple radar chart display to show the strengths and weaknesses of a player, with this split up into six different categories.
- Name change of each positions e.g. CH (Centre Half) is now CMF (Centre Midfield).
Production
- John KABIRA and Tetsuo Nishi provide us with on-the-spot phrases, which total up to around 1200.
- The Number of stadiums has now increased to 20 in all.
- Various elements added. (Change in a spectator number etc.)
- Additional stadium (6)
Dele Alpi, Stadio Olympico, Stamford bridge, Anfield, Sapporo dome & Nagai stadium
Edit
- Three new parameters have been added. These are play stability. GK technology & nimbleness. Furthermore, you can now give the kickers less favoured foot a rating.
- Parameter name change.
Speed -> top speed.
Stability -> condition stability.
- Face Morphing
Face editing is not face type selection.
It creates and combines for every part, such as eyes, nose and mouth.
Face alignments, such as height of a nose, are possible.
- It is possible to insert a club team player into the national team. However, it is not possible to change players around from club to club, or even edit positions in the nation teams
- The shorts number position can be edited (left or right etc.).
It all sounds like a great step in the right direction. At the moment there is no word on official licences, which would finally give the game the same selling power as a FIFA game.
PES 2 was amazing and I still play it every single day. If these game improves on that, they may just have to invent an Eighth day of the week!
