Butt-Kicking Action... TMNT Style!!
Well, where do I start? I got the new TMNT game today and I have to say, I'm very impressed!
As a child from the 80's, growing up with the original Turtles, I was very excited to hear that they were making a come back, and this game is everything you'd expect.
From playing the two-player co-op mode, the first thing I noticed was the great graphics!! Yeh yeh, I hear you all, what's so great about cel shading? Well, it gives the game the genuine comic effect that the Turtles should give you.
The game itself is challenging for any player, and it's an all round fun game! With plenty of modes to keep your fingers busy, who wouldn't be pleased with this game??
Many moan about the lack of 4-player abilities, but even with only two players, fun is to be have by all!!
Overall, this isn't going to win any greatest game of the year awards, but it will win a special place in your game collection, as a piece of nostalgia for anyone who remembers the original cartoon/comic or games, or those who are new to the awesome foursome!!!
Oh my thumbs.
This is a very average beat' em up. It does look great and it has some novel ideas and cool bosses, but most of the time it's just old-fashioned button-mashing, which just isn't all that fun when it's hour after hour after hour.
If you're a major turtle-head you'll probably enjoy it, but beware: even you will eventually tire of the sameness.
Watch the cartoons instead. You'll have more fun.
