Amazon.co.uk Review
Tefal's Avanti 6532817P is a thoroughly modern toaster large enough and nimble enough to serve the whole family. Extra-wide self-adjusting slots firmly grip a variety of bread thicknesses and are also perfect for bagels, muffins, waffles or pastries. The four slots are divided into two independently operated sets that have their own six-stop browning control for precise toasting and a stop/eject button. Additionally, the left set has buttons to defrost frozen bread and other items and to reheat previously toasted items that have gone cold. Each set also has a "high-lift" lever to facilitate safe removal of small items and its own removable crumb tray. The sizable toaster is lightweight and easily carried by its inset handle in the back. The handsome exterior is also easy to wipe clean. --Fred Brack, Amazon.com
Manufacturer's Description
This stylish Tefal Avanti 4 slice toaster will fit perfectly into any kitchen. No time wasting every morning, furiously waiting for that elusive toast to pop. The Tefal Avanti Toaster has a hi-speed element, which cuts toasting time by a third and gives great results everytime.
Any type of thick or thin bread can be accommodated and the variable width guides ensure that browning of these types of bread is perfect. Separate 2-slice only operation allows you to only use 2 slices of the toaster for your single portions, rather than heating up the whole toaster. Frozen bread, reheat and cancel functions are all standard on the Tefal Avanti toaster and allow you control with versatility. Great safety features such as high life mechanism and cool touch exterior mean no more burnt fingers!

small bread needed!!!
While this toaster is an attractive addition to your kitchen gadgets, be aware that the novel sloping design is not compensated for in extra toasting depth. The toasting slots are also pretty short. This means that you may have to cut crusts off, to fit bread into your beautiful toaster, and forget about toasting anything that you have baked in your breadmaker!
This toaster is relatively inexpensive, it looks funky and it does the job, just consider the kind of bread you like to toast and whether you can be bothered trimming it...
It will put you off making toast
Every time i use this abysmal device i tell myself that i really must post a review and warn everyone about what is the worst electronic device i have ever came across. It may look nice, but this toaster singularly fails in achieving its main function, namely toasting. Exactly how it manages to cremate some bits of the bread and leave other parts thorougly un-cooked remains a mystery to me. I have also yet to find the bread that actually fits in it without requiring prior mutilation. If they have toasters in hell, this model will be in every kitchen.
Not good for the usual slice size!
Like everybody else we though this toaster was very funky when we bought it. It looked really nice and different from the other toasters. Although I agree with the cheap looking handles idea, in general it is a good looking little toaster. However, to me, unless something does its job properly there is no point in having it, and this goes for this toaster too. Unless we buy smaller bread loafs the slices are never evenly done and for this reason decided to give it an early retirement :)
