Manufacturer's Description
If you are searching for that dentist fresh feeling every time you brush and are prepared to get some healthy praise from your dentist into the bargain then read on.....
Superior cleaning technology can remove over 95% of plaque from hard-to-reach areas, remove stains for naturally whiter teeth and help prevent gingivitis and reverse gum disease. All this whilst a unique power clean sensation gives you that dentist fresh feeling.
Superior cleaning is achieved by high speed in and out pulsations gently loosening plaque while the rapid side to side movements sweep it away. Should this not relieve you of feeling the need to scrub away at your teeth and gums, a pressure sensor is activated if too much pressure is applied. A two minute memory timer then indicates the optimum brushing time.
This model is the top of the Professional Care 7000 range. The recharging unit doubles as a hygienic storage tower for up to 4 brush heads. 2 Indicator brush heads are included as well as 2 much thinner, interdental brush heads that clean between the teeth. A hard travel case will keep your clean and maybe wet toothbrush away from the rest of your things (and stop any embarrassment caused by it going off accidentally in your bag!).
Customer Reviews
A highly polished package - scrubs up nicely
A few years ago I had the first generation of the Braun Oral-B toothbrushes, and was always pleased. I finally dropped and broke it and so took the opportunity to "upgrade" to one of the competitors Sonic brushes now on the market. A year later I've just bought this toothbrush after realising I had a costly "Sonic" mistake in my bathroom cabinet and discoloured teeth.
I suffer from easily stained teeth and the Oral-B brushes work best for me without a doubt. I have just returned from a 1 week trip away and even on the last day the motor was humming quite happily at full speed without any sign of needing charging.
This model has space for 4 heads in the main unit, and the travel case will also hold 2 heads. The brush unit has a bright blue LED which flahes while charging and stays on when fully charged - this really is quite bright and while I find it a great bonus for those 2am toilet visits without switching the light/extractor on, anyone who shares a bedroom with this thing charging may find it too bright.
In summary great teeth cleaning from a well made product.
A good brush and a worthwhile upgrade.
I have found the Oral B 7500 can't get my teeth cleaner than a manual toothbrush. However compared to a manual toothbrush it:
1) Is more efficient. Using the built in two minute vibrating timer, I was surprised how quickly I could clean my teeth. When I have cleaned this quickly in the past with a manual brush, it left behind noticable plaque.
2) Is much better at cleaning other parts of my mouth (the roof, tongue and cheeks) because of the small brush head.
3) Has a slight polishing action. My teeth are slightly whiter. It isn't an amazing difference, but the effect is noticable.
4) Provides a night light for my bathroom. A funny side effect but the small round blue light above the Braun Logo is as bright as a keychain LED torch or a candle.
Compared to the Oral-B battery operated toothbrush I upgraded from the 7500 offers:
1) Improved quality. The 7500 feels better engineered.
2) Constant rotation speed. The 7500 isn't so dependent on battery freshness as it is always topped up by the charger. It feels around 85% as fast as my old brush on a new set of alkaline batteries.
3) In and out oscillations that don't seem to make much of a difference. The movement is miniscule, certainly not as big the diagrams show on their website, and probably a bit of a gimmick. Faster rotation speed is far more noticable to how efficient a toothbrush feels.
Compared to sonic toothbrushs whose heads have an up and down or side to side motion, rotating head toothbrushes such as this one have been found to be more efficient as getting rid of plaque in every review I have read, without exception. Having said that they will all get your teeth clean.
The best toothbrush I've used so far
This is the third Braun toothbrush I've used, and also the best.
Why is it the best?
- like other reviewers, I find my teeth are the cleanest they've ever been - that "just left the hygenist" feeling!
- a reminder to change brushing zone every 30 seconds, in addition to the standard overall 2 minute cycle
- two speeds, in case you have sensitive areas or prefer it slower
- 4 brush heads (2 normal, 2 interdental), and the interdental ones are very effective at residual plaque removal
- very sensitive to over-pressure, meaning that it is very difficult to do your gums harm - another bonus for the orally-sensitive
- aesthetically, if you care about these things, the blue LED charging indicator is lovely!
Incidentally, Braun's customer service is very good. My brush unit failed after 7 months - my new replacement arrived within 4 days.
(Do bear in mind that I am the only reviewer to date who has had a problem with the brush, so I don't believe there are any quality problems).
The price on Amazon is exceptionally good, beating John Lewis (where my brush actually came from!), as another reviewer has said too. (Again, like another reviewer, I'd like to point out that Amazon's picture is currently of the wrong brush - it's the new sparkly dark blue handle finish).
I recommend this brush over all the other Braun brushes. It's the best, and it's cheap at the price.
