Manufacturer's Description
Specifically designed and exclusively available for the PS2, Jungle Storm sends the Ghosts into the Colombian forest to hunt down a deadly drugs cartel. Set in 2009, the game takes the form of an eight mission campaign which, in single-player mode, is 50% of the game; a further eight-mission operation in post-Castro Cuba also awaits you.
So does the game's online component. The first online Ghost Recon title for the PS2 encapsulates everything that made its predecessor the Xbox Live game of choice but has been purposely tailored to exploit the capabilities of its host hardware. In total, an impressive 31 multi-player maps are available, offering 10 modes of play (three of them new). Voice communication--a critical aspect of the Ghost Recon experience--has been fully implemented, meaning you can chat to your online team members or, when in single player mode, instinctively control your AI squad.
NBOnline play requires broadband connection and Network Adapter (available separately). Voice communication requires USB headset (available separately).

Extremly good stealth game
This game is better than solcom, controls are much easier but gamplay is still diffcult. This game requires stealth patience good shot and a nifty eye to spot the enemys. The game allows you to hide in bush`s crawl and other stealth moves to elimanate the terrorists. You control a platoon of soilders which you use to your tatics. The graphics on the game are superburb with realistic surroundings like bush`s forests towns ECT.Sound in great since you can not here the enemy most of the time which gives you a challenge.
Gameplay is great with a whole array of weapons and soilders giving you more options to suit your gameplay to what you like. Its contains training and tatical exersises to get you ready for those campain missions.
Overall this game is a good game full of options and fun i highly reccomend this!
AN OUTSTANDING GAME
This game oozes tension, that is one of its best qualities (the others being gameplay, graphics and AI, but we'll come to those later). Allow me to describe a scene from the first level of the game. You and your squad are edging through dense forest on your stomachs, your objective is to get to an enemy camp and capture it. You are nearing the camp when you hear gunshots. You quickly move behind a rock and get ready to counter-attack. You stand up and charge at the enemy, taking them down with your rifle and moving on to the next. You kill them all and move on to the next objective. That kind of thing is what I like in a game (the unpredictability of it, where you don't know who or what there is around the corner).
Of course there are ways to stop yourself being blind-sided like that. There is a kind of radar that tells you if there are enemys nearby (but it doesn't tell you exactly where, which makes things a bit more challenging). There is also a useful map which tells you where there are enemys.
Don't worry if you have never played a squad based shooting game before, because there are plenty of training exercises to ease you in. Such as rescue, shooting, defending, capturing and tank destroying.
In the single player mode, there are two campaigns (jungle storm and Island Thunder). They both have nine missions which get harder as you advance through them. These missions have diverse objectives and are both fun to play and challenging. My only qualm is that the learning curve is a bit steep (the last two missions in both campaigns are very difficult compared to the others).
The gameplay is excellant as the weapons feel meaty in your hands and you feel as though they could really do serious damage. The squad commanding is well done (espescially if you have the head-set). It is very user friendly.
The graphics are great and the environments are big, the grass on the ground is a bit strange though but it doesn't matter.
Ai (both squad and enemy) is very good as well, with enemys trying to find cover when you open fire on them. There are also RPG elements as you have to make your squad better by adding points on to their stats.
This game even has a solid multiplayer mode with lots of options (even a two player co-operative mode) including last man standing and team based modes.
All this makes for a very good game which I would strongly recommend to anybdy who is a fan of shooting games.
NB:I have not played the online modes on this game but they are said to be very good as well.
Still not as fun as Timespliters 2 but catching up!!!
This game is just brilliant. This game has two versions in it one of them is The Island Of Thunder (Xbox version) and the other is the PS2 sequel Jungle Storm. You have two options of how to complete the missions in style. You can run in guns blazing and risk the entire mission, or you can sneak along the ground and polish them all off without giving away your position. If you like either Socum Navy Seals or Rainbow Six then your bound to love this game. I'm still waiting to try the online play but I'm sure it will be just as good as the game.
The most amazing thing about this game is that after your character has been running you can see the effect their breathing has on their accuracy.
In summary it's a fantastic game which will put any xbox gamer in their place.
