Product Description

Star Wars Battlefront will put fans and gamers in the heat of the action as they relive all of the epic battles from the classic and prequel eras of the Star Wars universe. Players will be able to participate in the most memorable Star Wars battles set in over 15 environments across 10 diverse planets including Hoth, Geonosis, Yavin, Tatooine and Naboo. Players will also be able to select one of over 20 different soldier types from four factions: Rebel Alliance, Imperial Army, Clone Army and Droid Army. Each soldier will have specialised abilities and the freedom to use ground-based turrets found on the battlefront as well as over 15 diverse ground and air vehicles including the AT-ST, X-wing and speeder bike.

In addition to the single-player and various multiplayer modes offered in Star Wars Battlefront, a unique "Conquest" mode adds an innovative and strategic gameplay element to the action. After each battle is completed and the planet is conquered, the winning team will be rewarded with a special "bonus" ability that can be deployed in future battles in an attempt to take over the Star Wars galaxy planet by planet.

It's probably not a complete coincidence that Star Wars: Battlefront comes out on exactly the same day as the original trilogy (or at least what's left of it after the Special Editions) DVD box set. The fact that Battlefront sounds like a lot like Battlefield (as in 1942, Vietnam etc) is also probably not entirely down to chance, since this is essentially a Star Wars-ified version of EA's online classic.

As such the game features first or third person shoot-'em-up gameplay over 15 different environments from both the classic trilogy and the not-so classic trilogy. Unfortunately you can't mix and match the different eras, so each of the two sets of opposing factions have to stick to their own levels.

Although the game has a much stronger single player mode than its PC based inspiration, the heart of the game is still the multiplayer mode that allows for up to 16 players online playing as more than 20 different soldier types, which sadly doesn't include Ewoks or Gungans (although the former are at least in the Endor levels as non-player characters). There are more than 30 different authentic Star Wars weapons to use (although not, as far as is known, lightsabers) and 30 different vehicles to pilot, including Scout Walkers, X-wings and speeder bikes.

Despite its obvious steals from the Battlefield series Star Wars: Battlefront is shaping up to be a more than worthy title on its own, with excellent graphics, plenty of variety and, most important of all, the chance to essentially "play" Star Wars, except with virtual characters instead of action figures.--David Jenkins

Star wars Battlefront5
Star wars battlefront, the name says it all! It is the epic star wars battlefronts. The graphics are brilliant. Whatever you see you can get. Any ship there you can get it! You can fly, drive and walk on the famous battlefields fighting as 1 of 4 teams. You can help the rebellion or crush it, destroy or help the republic. It is a must buy! It's the perfect oppotunity to live the fiece battles that took place in the Star wars collection.

Good but could be better4
This games is probably the best in all the star wars franchise. The gameplay is very good and you can be either good or evil in the battle for the galaxy. You can fight the historic battle of Hoth and even the newer ones which were shown in the attack of the clones.
The only negative thing I can say about this game is the length of time it takes for completion. For historical campaigns, it may only take a whole hour to do six battles. Not the most time consumming game ever made.
In conclusion I have to say that this is a very good game but hopefully improvements will be made for the sequal in the Autumn.

Star Wars Battlefront4
This games a lot of fun and a must for any starwars fan. The game play is basic but addictive. I am not a first person shooter fan but the ability to be a stormtrooper and drive around in a AT-AT has definelaty won my vote on this one.

The only reason i have not given this game a five is due to the unchanging nature of gameplay throughout the game. The campaigns were also a little on the short side.

P.S. Watch out for the DRODAKA'S!
