Amazon.co.uk Review
Even the most ardent of Shrek fans would have to admit that so far the games based on the big green goofball haven’t quite been up to scratch. In fact they’ve been completely rubbish. Shrek 2, based directly on the new movie, is a step back in the right direction.
At its core the game is a sort of scrolling beat-'em-up, interspersed with numerous little puzzles to overcome as you try to navigate the various fairytale realms. What makes things a lot more interesting is that you actually manage a team of four characters at a time, taking control of one at a time and having the other three follow along behind. The defaults include Shrek, Fiona and Donkey, but you also get to use Gingerbread Man, Lil' Red, Puss in Boots and The Big Bad Wolf.
The best bit is that if you can get three friends to help, then one person can actually control a character each, which really livens things up. But even in single player mode any of the characters can get a chance to take part in a "Hero Time" mini-game that provides a enjoyable respite from the main game as you take a ride on a dragon with Donkey or indulge in a singalong with Fiona.
Although the graphics are impressive (much more so than the sound, which doesn’t feature the original movie cast), the main gameplay can get a bit monotonous. But for Shrek fans and general young 'uns there’s more to enjoy here than with most film licenses. --David Jenkins

The kids loved it (and so did I!!)
Although this is a game for the children, I have spent a few happy hours "helping out" our 4-year-old through the puzzles, some of which are quite challenging. He absolutely loves the game, which is as good a recommendation as they come.
The gameplay is refreshingly "un-PC" (squashing snails to collect eyeballs, rounding up chickens by hitting them!), the jokes and one-liners are funny and there's plenty of variety in the puzzles. The only thing that lets the game down a bit is the third-person camera, which never seems to be able to settle on a decent view for long. However, this is only a minor flaw in an otherwise great game.
Check out Shrek!!
Shrek 2 is a very enjoyable and addictive game. You can stay on it for hours on end. I've completed the game on multipayer with my sister but it took many hours. I have found some of the levels harder than others and they took a very long time to crack, but, if you stick with you'll enjoy it a lot. Some levels can be a bit frustrating, especially the last level which i must of had to try about 15 times before completion. I think the funniest thing is how Shrek can pick up people! Buy it and try it! That's my motto!
Shrek 2
This is a great fun game for 1-4 players of intermediate gaming skill. With easy 1st levels, it is possible for a beginner to progress but some levels pose challenges for the not-so-advanced. This is a great game that follows the story of the hit film 'shrek 2' i loved it!
