Amazon.co.uk Review
In these days of endless sequel after sequel it's quite a surprise to find out that a successful series like Jak & Daxter is coming to an end of its publisher's own volition. But--although the characters may well appear again in some other form--Jak IIImarks the end of the epic storyline that is now over three years in the making.
The first Jak & Daxter game was a fairly straightforward Rare-esque platformer, but the second game expanded the concept considerably to become a sort of cartoon style Grand Theft Auto. This third game removes some of the more unnecessary diversions of Jak II to become a more enjoyably focused action adventure. The actual story follows on directly and sees Jak and Daxter banished to the Wastelands--a massive game world more than five times the size of Haven City from the last game.
Although they are less prevalent than last time there are a dozen different vehicles to pilot and plenty of upgradeable weapons. Perhaps the most important new gameplay feature though is Jak's new light eco form, to balance out the dark eco powers from Jak II. In light eco form Jak grows a pair of angelic wings and gains the power to regain lost health and even freeze enemies in time (and yes, it does work a bit like bullet time).
For fans of the series, or those just looking for a fun, modern-thinking platformer, this series is definitely going out on a high. --David Jenkins

Jak's BACK - Brilliant , Amazing
Jak 3 is here!! This is the best of the three. Great vehicles, great guns, excellent gameplay and fantastic cut-scenes all make this game a massive hit!! The only down side of the game though, is the length. It is shorter than the second one, though it still took me a while to complete. This should definitely be on everybody's christmas list!! 5 star, 10/10
Out of Darkness comes Light... ?!
Here we are again... back with Jak and the ever flamboyant Daxter on another platform-jumping, monster-shooting, swinging adventure.
As Jak gets labeled a disturber of the peace he gets exiled to the desert, this is where the fun begins... you get to kick metal heads in the... er... head and then run 'em over with a big lawn-mower with lazers. Drive vehicle; shoot beams from you blaster as big as a 'Father-Son Kame Hame Ha'; update your weapons and generally smash enemies into submisson. But, oh no, thats not it... you have to find even more Precursor Orbs and complete special 'tasks'...
I bet your now wondering "In which case, why the hell hasnt this guy given it five stars?"
Well, there is one slight criticism; the game sometimes comes across as easy. This may be true at times, but, dont let it put you off. Whether your a fan of the Jak trilogy or you just love to get in a massive tank with an onboard turret and slam into enemies at high speeds, you'll love Jak 3... It even has good replay value!
A certain hit that players will love.
All info from reasonable sources although game not out yet.
The storyline is that Jak and daxter get chucked out of Haven City by Count Veger because of Jak's violent ways when he turns to dark Jak. They are found in the wastelands by Damus, the king of Spargus city.In Spargus city live 'the forgotten ones' who each owe a life dept to the city. When jak gets there he must complete a seris of challenges to be accepted into their society. In jak3 there are more guns and each gun has at least 3 advancements. In Spargus City they ride dune buggies instead of hover-cars. You will play as Daxter a lot more than on Jak2 and it is rumoured that Daxter will return to his human form at the end of the game. Jak will be able to turn into light Jak which is like a blue angel like thing but it will help you defeat metal heads it will help you fly to high places. Incase you're wondering metal heads are wierd monsters that roam the wastelands which is where Spargus city is. Overall it looks a great game for returning Jak fans or for newcomers to the Jak seris, so start counting down the days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
