absolutely awful sound quality1
The sound quality is so poor partly because of the ipod software has crippled the recording to mono wav files. The proximity of the microphone means you'll record more harddrive noises than voices. I think mine was faulty, because if that is the quality its meant to record how could Griffin charge more than £5 for such a rubbish novelty. Really, buy anything else to record notes rather than this or you will be bitterly disappointed. Even for note taking this is worthless, you will need an extra microphone to get barely worthwhile recordings from it. A nice design, a nice idea poorly made and implemented. How can anyone honestly give this four stars! It's horrid! I really feel cheated. The imic was so useful, this and the airclick have really changed my opinion of griffin technology. Twice stung, not again. Not happy. Don't buy!

Buy the Other One2
I purchased the Griffin Technology Voice Recorder to record lectures...the first one I had was defective and couldnt pick up a voice from six feet away, so i sent it back. The second i purchased is a little better...but not much. I have used it with an external mike and that doesnt appear to have made any difference. A friend has the Belkin recorder and the recording quality is much better....so much so, that I have just ordered one myself. The Griffin is fine if you want a dictophone.

Waste of money1
the sound is not bad but if you are using it for recording lectures it is best to sit in the first or second row otherwise it loses quality. it seems to work sometimes and then on other occasions the files which I have saved and double checked I have saved are gone by the time i return home to transfer them onto my computer. For this reason I would not recommend buying it. :(
