With its series-finale episode, Dawson's Creek summed up its six-year run on the WB Network with a sweet and sad tale of reunion and farewell for old friends, soul mates, and lovers. The friends are now 25 and living new lives: Dawson (James Van Der Beek) is in Hollywood executive-producing The Creek, obviously based on his own life and considered "the new hit teen soap at the WB"; Joey (Katie Holmes) is a book editor in New York with a serious beau; Jen (Michelle Williams) is a single mother; Pacey (Joshua Jackson) is the relatively respectable owner of the reborn Icehouse Restaurant; and Jack (Kerr Smith) is teaching at the high school and struggling with his relationship. A wedding brings everyone together in Capeside, but tragedy strikes, and the remaining friends are left to consider their lives and what they want to do with them. Whether or not you agree with the final choices, of course, probably depends on who you've been rooting for.--David Horiuchi

Wonderful trip down memory lane
I came across this DVD while browsing on Amazon the other day and it brought back loads of memories so I decided to order it and then put aside a couple of hours for me, a pot of tea, some biscuits and a box of tissues for the inevitable waterfall of tears that I knew would come.
This DVD was the perfect finale for this whole set of series - several years in the future and we meet up again with our old friends Dawson, Pacey, Jen, Joey and Jack etc. All but Pacey (who now owns a restaurant in Capeside) and Jack (who is teaching at the school there) have moved away from Capeside (Hollywood for Dawson and New York for Joey) and they are all brought back together for the wedding of Dawson's Mum. They haven't seen each other for a long time and there are lots of reminiscing to be done and decisions to be made and also something that will turn their world upside down........I don't want to ruin it as I know that there are some who haven't seen this episode yet (if you haven't be careful reading further on as some reviews tell the plot) but suffice to say it's a real tearjerker and had me sniveling into my hankie all over again.
If you were a fan of the series (or even if you dipped in and out of their lives over the years), this is such a great last episode and ties up some lose ends but don't forget those hankies....you really will need them.
made me a Dawsons creek fan again
If like me you enjoyed the first 4 seasons of Dawsons creek but felt that it started to lose its appeal towards the end this dvd will bring you back into the Dawsons creek fold.Well written and brilliantly acted by all a fitting end to a series that was more good than bad.Has extra scenes not shown on channel 4 that tie up all the lose ends.Really worth a watch.
Oh Jesus
I like to think that I am a person who wears his emotions on his sleeve, and that I can cry at films. Like at the end of Forrest Gump. But nothing prepared me for this double episode. It was a strange mixture, sadness and beauty bleeding into one another. It really did finish off this amazing show perfectly, and after some writing lapses in the 5th and 6th seasons it was amazing. I admit I cried several times, especially when Grams said goodbye to Jen. It's sad, but even thinking about it makes me happier, and I hope that one day I have friends like that. Watching Dawson's Creek lets me step back from my life and see that it's not that bad. I urge you to watch this and smile.
