Customer Reviews
Brilliantly composed music
This music is unique, like all of James Horner's works and like normal, is lovely to listen to. It fits the film perfectly, building up with tense music in parts and using throughout the music themes that are ones you remember with the likes of Howard Shore's music. Plus, an excellent ending song by Josh Groban to end it all. The songs are long and anything but boring, I strongly recommend this brilliant music for a brilliant film.
I feel I've got to even the scale
Nearly all the reviews I've read of this album absolutely rubbish it, and I can't understand why! I've even read reviews that complained about the warbling singing, which left me with an impression that he'd never actually seen the film!
I really like this album, more so than I actually enjoyed the film which was just, okay!
The music is exceptionally emotive and to me brings to mind images of battles, lost loves and an awful lot of sand!
To be quite honest the simplest review of this CD is this: Watch the film... do you like the music that is in the film? If yes, buy the CD, if no, then I probably wouldn't recommend it! I personally really like it!
Haunting
Relaxing, ethereal...a real feeling for a desert of drifting sands and ancient beauty in civilisations now fallen.
What this one lacks in Hollywood punch, it makes up for in pure sensual journey. The film was excellent, and the soundtrack fit perfectly. I'm glad I got this one, it's great to have something that doesn't sound like every other adventure track in the film industry.
