Not as bad as it's said to be.4
Alright you aren't gonna get Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. This movie is big and dumb. It is a Van Damme movie after all. If you're a fan of the games you'll recognise the characters but the storyline has been hacked to peices to suit a movie going audience. It does the job. The fight scenes are well done and the acting is functional at best but it is just a movie and it's a fun way to spend an hour and a half. Don't expect too much and you'll be entertained from start to finish.

A good film, loosely based on the popular video game.4
Street Fighter is a good film, which is only let down by a few minor niggles.

Fans of the game a most likely to be dissapointed as the script does not strictly follow the storyline from the game. Several character have changed their morality and it appears that the producers didn't like the whole 'World Warrior' theme.

If you own the video, the DVD features will not really make this film worth buying again. Kylie Minogue outshines the rest of the cast's performance with the exception of Raul Julia for which it is worth-while to note, for his fans, that this was his last film before he died.

The film is much better judged as being a family action film, its suitable for all ages. The fight scenes are well staged and the story is imaginative but at the same time fairly simple, so it should keep most people interested.

I loved it- didn't you???4
OK. I know that its based on the game but its a bit of fun ain't it??? Its embarrassing for the actors and the storyline has to be questioned but Van Damme did what he did best and kicked his ass!!! The characters had to be written in somewhere and it was done well. Each one had a story to tell and they all intertwined to produce a film. The fact that Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, Raul Julia and Ming-Na Wen are in it is a bonus. A fantasy story with a bit of humour and macho action, but on the whole, pretty good.
