Excellent
Han Zimmers work is usually up to a high standard and this album is no different. The traks are not quite in th running order of the movie, but this is excellent listening. My two children always start singing the Busted track at the end whenever it is on, and the included music video is a big bonus, don't delay, buy today.
A surprise!
In much the same way as the film surprised me by being half decent the soundtrack did also. Hans Zimmer was a strange choice, and the ever-present threat that Barry Gray's theme would not be in the film AT ALL scared me mindless. However, the opening Thunderbirds are Go track is great. Of course it doesn't hold a candle to the original, but its still the thunderbird theme. The new themes that Zimmer has created are all also surprisingly good. A little techno, but not too much, the new thunderbird theme is a highlight as is Lady Penelope's blatantly English upper class theme, and Alan's theme is also good. There are definite reminders that is from the composer of The Rock - much of the same bombastic orchestra in places, and of course this is no bad thing. I have one complaint, that the original thunderbird them appears in one place in the movie and the particular cue does not reappear here - the Oil Rig sequence at the start of the movie. The cue is simply absent. A shame. Overall, however, Zimmer has done an excellent thing with the score. Recommended specifically for people that like the film (i'm sure there will be a few, its quite good, trust me!).
