Dreadful!
I'll keep this short. Received this for Xmas, played it in the evening. Was very angry. Cheap graphics, mostly synthesized music clips making it unintelligible and boring questions that you wouldn't want to know the answer to in the first place. You gain nothing from this experience!
So sick, that my girlfriend tried to take it back to the shop. As she'd lost the receipt they couldn't take it back. She surprised them by saying
"Well, you keep it anyway!"
Can I award this no stars?
Shoddy, rushed and cheap
Please be aware if you are going to buy this that it has been done (in my opinion) totally on the cheap. I like to think I have a very good music knowledge (I've won numerous pop quizzes in pubs, clubs etc), and quite fancied a crack at this.
First (and main problem) is that the music is not the original artists. Its done on cheap karaoke style keyboards rendering the introduction practically unrecognisable (unless the original was also done on cheap karaoke keyboards).
Second is that their answers aren't always correct. I think I know my Lovecats from my Boys Don't Cry (The Cure), but the game designers obviously don't. Also, we had the same question literally back to back at one stage
Thirdly is that its simply too difficult. I was averaging about 20 out 50, while my wife was struggling to score 5.
Fourthly, in a DVD age, there shouldn't be any need for pens and paper.
How this should have been done:
1. Use the original artists music (or at least copy it more accurately)
2. Research your answers. Then check them.
3. make it easier. These questions would challenge the most knowledgeable individual
4. Make it INTERACTIVE. Multiple choice and button pressing is much better than pen & paper
Sorry, but this was a good idea ruined by poor efforts from all involved (the online version of the game is much better as it using the ACTUAL songs).
If I could give it no stars I would. Poor, Poor, Poor. Anyone wanna buy mine?
Total and utter rubbish
We saved this game to play with friends and their children on New Year's Eve. What a waste of time. No one could answer many questions, including my very-knowledgeable husband! The children did not stand a chance. It started off as very frustrating, then boring and then hysterical! I have to question some of your reviewers too. Are they REAL people or plants?
